Beijing released new policy for lottery of license plates for passenger cars
 
On December 7, the Interim Regulations on Controlling the Number of Passenger Cars in Beijing  and the detailed rules (revised in 2020)for the regulations had been formally released, and the new policy will be implemented on January 1, 2021. The main adjustments include the increase of the quota allocations to the car-free households, each person can only retain at most one quota for purchase, and the cancellation of the time limit for applying for updated quotas.
 
CPI in November declined and PPI recovered a little 
 
In November, CPI fell 0.5% comparing with that of the same month of previous year and 0.6% from last month; during January to November, CPI rose 2.7% comparing with that of the same period of last year. In November, the PPI fell 1.5% comparing with that of the same month of last year and rose 0.5% from last month; the purchasing prices of industrial producers fell 1.6% comparing with that of the same period of previous year and rose 0.7% from last month.From January to November, the average PPI fell by 2.0% comparing with that of the same period of last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers fell by 2.5%.
 
The auto sales increased by 12.6% in November
 
According to statistics of CAAM, the Chinese auto market achieved a total production of 2.85  million units in November, an increase of 9.6% comparing with that of the same month of previous year; the sales reached 2.77 million units, an increase of 12.6% comparing with that of the same period of last year. From January to November, the cumulative production and sales volume of China's auto market was 22.37 million units and 22.47 million units, down 3% and 2.9% respectively comparing with those of the same period of previous year, and the rate of decline was further narrowed. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers predicts that the auto market will show a slow growth trend in 2021, and it will maintain steady growth in the next five years. It is expected to reach 30 million units in 2025.
 
The inventory level of auto dealers exceeded the warning line in November
 
According to survey of China Automobile Dealers Association, the comprehensive inventory coefficient of auto dealers in November was 1.72, a sharp increase of 15.4% year-on-year and up 9.6% from last month. The inventory level was above the warning line. Of which, the inventory coefficient of high-end luxury & imported brand models was 1.58, an increase of 20.6% from last month. The inventory coefficient of joint ventures’ models was 1.67, an increase of 6.4% from last month. And the inventory coefficient of indigenous brand products was 1.87, an increase of 9.4% from last month. 
 
The recall of automobiles in November reached 1.08 million units
 
In November, the domestic auto market conducted 12 times of recalls, involving 1,079,600 vehicles of 12 brands. It was a decrease of 0.02% comparing with that of the same period of last year, but it increased by 646.39% from last month (144,600 units).

Inner Mongolia: To promote the use of fuel cell vehicles in Huhehaote 
 
On December 8, Inner Mongolia issued a draft of several measures to promote the development of the fuel cell vehicle industry. It clearly states: After about 5 years of hard work, a competitive hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation, and application integrated development industrial cluster will be formed and build an important national industrial base for innovative R&D, equipment manufacturing, and demonstration applications of hydrogen energy. It includes two phased goals: (1) From 2020 to 2023, the comprehensive development of the hydrogen energy industry will start, and the promotion and application of fuel cells in public transportation, logistics, mining and other fields will form a certain scale, to promote more than 3,830 fuel cell vehicles, and build 60 hydrogen refueling stations(including jointly constructed stations); (2) The development of hydrogen energy industry will be accelerated from 2024 to 2025. A total of 10,000 fuel cell vehicles will be promoted, and 90 hydrogen refueling stations (including joint stations) will be built. 
 
Jiangxi: To build 96 new charging stations by 2023
 
The Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and other 7 departments jointly issued the "Three-Year Action Program for Accelerating the Construction of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (2021-2023)". It is programmed that by 2023, the province will ensure the completion of 96 various charging stations and 30,000 charging piles and will strive to build 190 stations and 60,000 charging piles. The ratio of public charging piles to electric vehicles in Nanchang, Jiujiang and Ganzhou will not be less than 1:8, and the ratio of public charging piles to electric vehicles in other districts and cities shall not be less than 1:15.
 
DFM will raise funds of Rmb 21 billion to strengthen the development of new energy vehicles
 
DFM will soon be listed on the ChiNext, forming a pattern of "A+H" listings in two places. According to the prospectus, DFM will select the first program to issue new shares of 957 million shares to raise a total of Rmb 21 billion yuan.  
 
Leap Motor will fully purchase New Forta Auto
 
Fujian New Fuda has undergone industrial and commercial changes, the original shareholder Sanlong Group Co., Ltd. withdrew the company and a new shareholder, Leapmotor Co., Ltd., holds 100% of the shares of the company. From the industry's point of view, the acquisition of Fujian New Fora Auto will solve the production qualification problem of Leap Motor.
 
Continental’s Hydrogen Energy and Fuel Cell Technology Center will built in Changshu 
 
Continental has established a hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology center at its Changshu plant. The center will integrate vehicle fluid systems, vibration control, and the technical advantages of the China Material R&D Center in the rubber and plastic fields. It will be mainly engaged in R & D and output of hydrogen energy and key components for batteries of new energy vehicles.

Shanghai Lingang released a special program for the intelligent connected vehicle industry
 
On December 11, the Special Program for the Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry (2020-2025), which was established by Administration Commission of the Lingang New Area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, was released. The program proposes to promote the demonstration of high-level self-driving (above L3), the conditional opening of high-level autonomous-driving vehicles on expressways and over-head roads for testing and demonstration applications, and take the lead in piloting autonomous driving without safety personnel in specific areas. At present, the total mileage of tests at opened roads in Lingang has reached 118.2 kilometers.
 
Shanghai International Automobile City signed contract with White Rhino
 
On December 8, Shanghai International Automobile City Group and White Rhino Auto Co., Ltd.signed a cooperation agreement. In the next three years, the two parties will jointly deploy 100 unmanned delivery vehicles in Jiading District, Shanghai, to provide convenience to merchants such as supermarkets and fresh fruits and vegetables suppliers and provide unmanned vehicle transportation capacity and bring new delivery service experience to residents in Jiading District. 
 
The home first 5G scene self-driving new energy commercial vehicle manufacturing base started the production
 
The home-first 5G scene unmanned new energy commercial vehicle manufacturing base had formally started the operation on December 12, 2020. The base is located in Jinan City. It is invested by Allcheer Intelligent Automobile Co., Ltd., and constructed by China Construction Power Construction Co., Ltd., with an annual production capacity of 100,000 intelligent new energy vehicles. It has gathered three core technologies of super lightweight core components, intelligent variable body, and advanced hydrogen power, making it the first domestic intelligent variable body production base. 
 
GAC and Baidu singed framework agreement for cooperation
 
On December 8, GAC Group and Baidu signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The two parties will cooperate to develop related technologies for intelligent driving, intelligent auto connecting, and digital marketing, and explore solutions in the fields of autonomous driving and mobility, intelligent connecting and intelligent transportation. 
 
Huawei Auto Research Center will be built in Guangzhou
 
Huawei Technologies Inc. had invested Rmb 330 million to bid for a land area in Guanghzou to built the Huawei R&D center in Guangzhou. It will be engaged in the research and development of intelligent vehicles, Cloud- computing, and the Internet of Things.
 
Tencent and Hitachi will cooperate in the field of Internet of Vehicles and autonomous driving
 
Tencent and Hitachi announced that they have reached a cooperative relationship. The two parties will combine their respective technologies to jointly develop services in the fields of Internet of Vehicles, autonomous driving, and vehicle information security and promote the digital transformation of the automotive industry.
