The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic China encourages local governments to adjust and optimize the measures for vehicle purchase restrictions

On November 27, Wang Bingnan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that the next step is to expand automobile consumption steadily in the Policy Regular Briefing held by the State Council Information Office. Local governments are encouraged to adjust and optimize the measures for vehicle purchase restrictions. If conditions permit, a new round of activities can be launched to promote vehicles in rural areas and to trade old vehicles for new ones.

The automobile manufacturing industry registered a year-on-year profit growth of 6.6% in the first 10 months

From January to October, the operating incomes in the automobile manufacturing industry were RMB 6.3949 trillion, 2.1% higher than the same period of the previous year, with a 1.6-percentage-point growth rate increase over that from January to September. The amount accounts for 7.6% of the total operating incomes of the industrial enterprises above the designated size. From January to October, the profits of the automobile manufacturing industry were RMB 421.15 billion, 6.6% higher than the same period of the previous year, with a 3.6-percentage-point growth rate increase over that from January to September. The amount accounts for 8.4% of the total profits of the industrial enterprises above the designated size.

In November, the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) of the Chinese manufacturing industry was 52.1% 

The November PMI was 52.1%, a 0.7-percentage-point increase over that of the previous month, being above the critical point for 9 months in a row. The production index was 54.7%, a 0.8-percentage-point increase over that of the previous month, indicating that the growth of manufacturing output accelerates.

In October, the total volume of auto goods imports and exports exceeded USD 15.3 billion 

As suggested by the analysis of the CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), rapid growth momentum was also identified in terms of the amount of auto goods imports and exports in October this year. To be specific, the volume of auto goods imports and exports exceeded USD 15.33 billion in October, a year-on-year growth of 48.9%. The amount of auto goods imports was USD 8.33 billion, a year-on-year growth of 73.3%; the amount of auto goods exports was USD 7 billion, a year-on-year growth of 27.5%. 

CPCA (China Passenger Car Association): It is projected that 2.14 million passenger vehicles will be sold by retail in November

The CPCA stated that the retail sales target of manufacturers in November increases by 10.9% from the same period of the previous year, almost accounting for 80% of the sample size of the aggregate market. It is preliminarily estimated that the passenger car retail market in a narrow sense will be about 2.14 million vehicles this month.

The Ministry of Finance issued the 2021 subsidy budget for NEVs

The Ministry of Finance issued the 2021 subsidy budget for NEVs ahead of time. As shown in the document, the subsidy budget for NEVs will be RMB 37.58529 billion in 2021, including the operating subsidy for new energy buses and the application promotion subsidy for NEVs from 2016 to 2018.

Hainan provides subsidies of over RMB 9 million for NEV charging infrastructures of 6 cities and counties

Hainan provides provincial subsidies of RMB 9.3471 million to 6 cities and counties for the construction and operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructures. Relevant cities and counties are requested to strengthen funds management, accelerate appropriation of funds and improve fund efficiency.

The 1+6+4 model is adopted in Wuhan HFCV demonstration city cluster

The application for establishing Wuhan as a demonstration city was basically completed. The 1+6+4 model is adopted in the application for establishing the Wuhan city cluster: 1 Wuhan+6 participating cities (Xiangyang, Yichang, Shiyan, Huanggang, Jingmen and Xiaogan) +4 cooperative cities (Zibo, Yueyang, Weifang and Liaocheng).

SAIC, in cooperation with the Pudong New District and Alibaba, launched Zhiji Auto

On November 26, "Zhiji Auto", a high-end intelligent BEV project jointly created by SAIC Motor, Pudong New Area and Alibaba, was launched. The "Zhiji Auto" raised RMB 10 billion in "initial financing", with RMB 5.4 billion from SAIC, RMB 1.8 billion from the Zhangjiang Science City of Pudong New Area, RMB 1.8 billion from Alibaba and RMB 2.8 billion from other investors. "Zhiji Auto" is planned to be released in January of the next year, at which time a sedan model and an SUV model will be unveiled.

The pre-produced middle-large size intelligent electric SUVs of VOYAH came off the production line

On November 25, the pre-produced middle-large size intelligent electric SUVs of VOYAH came off the production line. According to information, the first model has received high temperature and altitude tests for over 3 months. It is now undergoing high altitude, temperature and cold tests, special tests and integrated strengthening tests.

Evergrande Auto proposes to build an auto parts manufacturing base in Shanghai

Evergrande Hengchi New Energy Vehicle (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is going to build a plant with an annual capacity of producing 100,000 autobody parts for NEVs. Evergrande Auto is synchronously developing 14 new models (including the 6 models that were launched), covering sedans, SUVs and MPVs from Grades A to D.  The company plans to start the volume production of its Hengchi-branded vehicles in the second half of the next year. Evergrande Auto said it aims to build production capacity for 1 million electric vehicles by 2025, and for 5 million units by 2035.  

ICV Industry

The C-V2X mainly promoted by China becomes the only V2X international standard

The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) determined by votes that the 5.9 GHz frequency band (5.850-5.925GHz) is assigned to Wi-Fi and C-V2X for use. FCC announced that it abandons DSRC and adopts C-V2X, which means that the C-V2X mainly promoted by China becomes the only V2X international standard.

GAC Group builds intelligent cockpit in collaboration with iFLYTEK  

On November 30, GAC Group, GAC Capital and Xunfei Yunchuang entered an agreement to build Xinghe Zhilian, a joint venture. Xinghe Zhilian will engage in such fields as intelligent cockpit, IoV and automobile digitalized services. The joint venture will offer auto industry its integrated solutions for intelligent digital cockpit, and provide users with safe, intelligent and highly efficient digital services based on the core capabilities of AI, big data and software engineering.

NIO announces launch of NIO OS 2.8.0 operating system

In the NIO OS 2.8.0 operating system of NIO, such new features as automatic door-locks after passengers leaving the vehicle, memory for front passenger seat and easy access to the front passenger seat will be added to the vehicles. In addition, the NIO OS 2.8.0 will feature upgrades in the performance of network connections, NOP navigation, easy access to the main driver's seat and charging port illumination.

JD.com's affiliated company issues a new patent on driverless vehicles

JD.com's affiliated company obtained a new patent on "a control method and device for driverless vehicles". Deviations to be generated in the future traveling will be considered in the implementation method. Location deviations and course angle deviations of the next data collection moment are added to the current control to compensate it.
