The Dual Credit results in 2019 was formally released

On July 2, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Annual Announcement on the Average Fuel Consumption of Chinese Passenger Vehicle Manufacturers and Credits of New Energy Vehicle in 2019. In 2019, 144 passenger vehicle manufacturers in China produced/imported 20.93 million passenger vehicles (including new energy passenger vehicles and excluding export of passenger vehicles, the same below), the industry's average curb weight of vehicle is 1,480kg, the average actual fuel consumption is 5.56L/100km, the positive credits of fuel consumption are 6.43 million points.The negative credits of fuel consumption are 5.11 million points, the positive credits of new energy vehicles are 4.17 million points, and the negative credits of new energy vehicles are 855,300 points. 

CAAM: The Total Import and Export of Auto Commodities in May was USD 8.33 billion

In May, the total import and export volume of auto commodities was USD8.33 billion, down 10% from last month and decreasing 36.9% comparing with that of the same month of previous year. Of which, the import value of auto commodities was USD 3.78 billion, down 3.1% from last month and declining 47.2% comparing with that of the same month of previous year; the export value of auto commodities was USD 4.55 billion, down 15% from last month and declining 24.6% comparing with that of the same month of previous year.

Recalls of Automobiles in Home in the First Half of 2020

In the first half of 2020, there were 93 times of recalls (about 3.19 million vehicles), an increase of 16% comparing with that of the same period of last year. There were more recalls for products of JVs and fewer of them are imported ones due to overseas epidemics. The recall of new energy batteries has increased rapidly, and there have been no new trends in the recall of traditional vehicles.

The pressure on auto inventory increased in June and the growth of the second-hand vehicles was positive for the first time this year

The inventory warning index of auto dealers in June was 56.8%, an increase of 2.6% from last month and rising 6.4% comparing with that of the same month of previous year. The inventory pressure increased significantly. In May, the national second-hand vehicle market has a transaction volume of 1.73 million units, an increase of 5.34% from last month and up 1.01% comparing with that of the same period of previous year. This is the first monthly positive year-on-year increase this year. The transaction amount was Rmb 72.65 billion yuan.

Automobile consumption index declines in June and the CADA expects the sales in July will not be positive

According to information from China Automobile Dealers Association, the price index of China auto market in June 2020 was 96.5%, a decrease of 0.7% from the previous month. The association predicts that Chinese auto market will still have greater growth pressure in July, and it is expected that sales in July will decline compared with that in June.

The accumulated NEVs in use in Chengwu will reach 200,000 units by 2022

Chengdu will strengthen the building of infrastructure for new energy vehicles, such as charging stations and hydrogen refueling stations, and continue to promote the application of new energy vehicles.The accumulated new energy vehicles in use in Chengdu will reach 200,000 units by 2022 and the number of charging piles will reach 45,000.

Ministry of Transport: All new vehicles registered in Xiongan New Area will be New Energy Vehicles except for those for special use

On July 3, the Ministry of Transport announced that Xiong'an New Area should explore the wireless charging for electric vehicles in the construction of pilot operation of smart highway, and build a smart highway that adapts to autonomous driving and Internet of Vehicles technology; it should comprehensively promote the new energy and clean energy transport equipment in the pilot area of green transport. All newly registered vehicles should be new energy vehicles except for those for special use and all vehicles in use will be gradually replaced by new energy vehicles.

Datong City will fully promotes new energy and clean energy taxis

The renewals of taxis in Datong City has been restarted at the end of May 2020. This round of taxi updates will fully promote the use of new energy and clean energy taxis. Of which, the qualified new energy vehicles should be those on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Catalog of Recommended Models of New Energy Vehicles for Promotion and Application. It includes 6 clean energy taxi models

All city buses used in Yinchuan will be electric models by 2022

The Yinchuan City of Ningxia’s Integrated Green Transportation Project is scheduled to start in 2020 and be completed in 2022. After the completion of the project, Yinchuan City will initially establish a modern green public passenger transportation system with the new energy public transportation system as the core, and the conventional bus system will be fully electrified.

CATL and SPIC will jointly develop energy storage project

CTVISION and SPIC had signed a cooperation agreement with CATL. Under the framework agreement, the three parties will jointly promote the development and construction of the energy storage projects

Hefei Guoxuan and Liuzhou Dongcheng Group will build JV

Hefei Guoxuan and Liuzhou Dongcheng Group had signed a cooperation agreement. The two parties will jointly invested Rmb 150 million yuan to establish a joint venture company (Liuzhou Guoxuan Battery Co., Ltd.). It will be mainly engaged in the research and development, production and after-sales service of lithium-ion power battery materials.

Zhongguancun opens 49 test roads for autonomous driving

In July, Beijing issued a notice to open some roads in Haidian District as test roads for autonomous driving vehicles. A total of 49 newly opened test roads had the total length of 195.9 kilometers. So far, Beijing has opened a total of 200 test roads for autonomous driving vehicles, with a total length of 699.58 kilometers.

The UN issued three Important Regulations in ICV Area

The 181st plenary meeting of the WP.29 was successfully held online on June 24, 2020. At the meeting, the Management Committee of the 1958 Agreement (AC.1) approved the regulations of Cybersecurity, Software Upgrades and Automated Lane Keeping Systems(ALKS).

The JV between Honda/Reach Auto starts the business

On July, Hynex Mobility Service Co., Ltd.the JV between Honda China and Reach Auto, formally started the business. It indicates the the ICV strategy of Honda China has entered a new stage.

Fuyao Glasses and BICV reached strategic cooperation

On July 1, Fuyao Glasses signed a strategic cooperation agreement with BICV. The two parties will work together on the innovative development and productization of GNSS high-precision positioning and communication multi-mode smart antenna + automotive glass fusion solutions, and promote the commercial application of related technologies of automotive intelligent networking.

TuSimple launches the world's first self-driving freight network

On July 2, Tusimple launched the world's first self-driving freight network in the United States. The transportation network will be composed by self-driving trucks, logistics hubs, and monitoring systems. The company will focus on launching the self-driving trucks in a safe and efficient manner in future.
